Targeted Engagement Program (TEP)

When complexity is high, we step closer.

Some young people are navigating layered trauma, mental health vulnerability, and deep educational disruption. For these students, even an alternative school model may not yet be enough.

The Targeted Engagement Program (TEP) is Alta1’s most intensive Tier 3 intervention – a short term, transitional pathway designed to restore safety, belonging, and readiness for learning.

This is school, reimagined at the point it’s needed most.

What TEP Does

TEP bridges the gap between crisis and sustained participation in education, training, or employment.

It combines:

  • Relational mentoring
  • Therapeutic oversight
  • Structured, scaffolded learning
  • Targeted academic support
  • Engagement is intentional and time-bound, with clear expectations for growth and transition.

TEP is not indefinite placement, it is a bridge forward.

Who It Supports

TEP is designed for young people who may be experiencing:

  • Significant educational disruption or exclusion
  • Complex mental health or trauma backgrounds
  • Barriers to emotional regulation and engagement
  • Intersecting family, social, and behavioural vulnerabilities

We do not reduce students to behaviour.

We respond to the systems beneath it.

A Clear Pathway Forward

TEP supports students to rebuild trust, regulation, and learning readiness creating structured transition points into:

  • Alta1 Campus programs
  • Vocational pathways
  • Employment
  • Or other appropriate settings

Because Pathways to Purpose is more than an idea it’s a structured process.
