At Alta1, education adapts to the student not the other way around. We exist for young people who haven’t yet found their place in school, and for the parents who refuse to give up on them.
For too many young people, school has become a place of anxiety, pressure, or disappointment. At Alta1, we’ve reimagined what education can look like – safe, relational, and purpose driven.
Here, students aged 12–18 rediscover trust in themselves, in others, and in learning. We meet each young person where they are and walk with them as they rebuild confidence, identity, and direction.
Whether a student has struggled with anxiety, school refusal, or simply never felt understood in mainstream classrooms, Alta1 provides a fresh start grounded in care and guided by purpose.
At the heart of Alta1 is the Stronger Systems Model (SSM) – a research-anchored, trauma-informed, and strength-based framework that helps young people rebuild what has been disrupted and grow the systems that make trust, learning, and wellbeing possible again.
Rather than asking “What’s wrong?”, we ask “What’s been disrupted and what can be rebuilt?”
Through the SSM, we support every student to strengthen seven interconnected systems that are vital for resilience, growth, and thriving.
Each of these systems can be disrupted by trauma, disadvantage, or disconnection. The Stronger Systems Model helps us intentionally rebuild them together.
Through a five-phase process of Discovery, Assessment, Intervention, Growth, and Measurement, educators and therapeutic staff co-design supports with the student, making growth visible and empowering. This shared language and process bring our therapeutic and educational teams together, ensuring every young person is seen, supported, and strengthened from the inside out.
Students don’t just cope, they learn to flourish.
Families don’t just find support, they find hope.
This isn’t “extra support.” It’s education done differently and done better for those who need it most.
We work with students aged 12 to 18 who are ready for an education that feels more human and more flexible.
Some come to us after long periods of school anxiety or bullying. Others simply haven’t thrived in traditional classrooms. What unites them isn’t a problem it’s potential that hasn’t yet been unlocked.
Our students leave Alta1 with something more important than grades alone: self-belief, direction, and the capacity to navigate life with purpose.

Every student has a personalised plan that integrates wellbeing and learning, guided by one of the largest therapeutic teams in an Australian school setting.

Students are surrounded by people who genuinely care. Educators, chaplains, and youth workers who listen first and walk alongside.

We prioritise calm, connection, and dignity over control and compliance.

From creative arts to mechanics, digital media to outdoor projects, our hands on approach builds confidence and employable skills.

Many of our students graduate with multiple certificates, VET qualifications, life skills, and a clear next step whether that’s further study, training, or work.
For over 25 years, Alta1 has supported young people across Western Australia from Perth Metro to the Great Southern and Kimberley regions.
We began with a simple belief:
Parents tell us it’s the first time they’ve seen their child enjoy school again. Students tell us it’s the first place they’ve ever truly felt accepted.
We’re proud to be both.
